My Top 3 Favorite Superhero Movies

‘Ello! How are you? I hope you have had a great week thus far! I didn’t have a lot of time today, so I decided it would be fun to talk about my top 3 favorite Superhero movies. We are going 3-1 here. So let us jump right in. There will some spoilers for these movies, so caution!

NUMBER 3: Captain America: The Winter Soldier

I really like Marvel, so it is no secret that Marvel movies will be some of my favorite all-time superhero flicks. Captain America, is one of my favorite Marvel superheroes, and I absolutely love his journey through this movie.

Captain America: The Winter Soldierย has some of the best action sequences in a Marvel movie while balancing mystery and excellent character development.ย ย The whole idea of his best friend being a mind-controlled villain is a fantastic one. Also, Bucky’s metal arm is pretty sweet. When Cap says: “‘cuz I’m with you till the end of the line,” after being beaten badly, I am sure it literally pierces my heart.

Black Widow/Natasha Romanoff has some of her finest moments in this movie. The only reason this isn’t higher is that I simply like other superhero movies better, oh, and the German scientist who was supposed to be dead, but actually alive and communicating through the old computer was… interesting to say the least.

Number 2: Spiderman Into the Spider-Verse

Yes, and an animated “Marvel movie” made it higher on my list than a live-action one. This is partly because Spider-Verse had some of the coolest animation I have ever seen! Spiderman is also my very favorite Marvel superhero. Honestly, I wish I could have those powers. Spider-Verse is super entertaining. Being PG, there is less content to navigate, which is always a plus. I did a review of this movie HERE.

This movie had an amazing set of characters and a spectacular origin story. It can get pretty intense and emotional (with the deaths especially), while somehow maintaining to be humorous (even laugh out loud) at times. We all know I love humor too. Miles was such a relatable lead character, and Peter B. Parker (my favorite) was a hilarious mentor figure while still navigating his own internal problems. All the characters are loveable.

I just had a really fun time with this movie. It makes the audience feel like they are superheroes. The camera follows right with the action. The voice talent is really amazing.

Number 1: The Dark Knight

All-in-all I may be a bigger Marvel than DC fan, but shockingly, my all-time favorite superhero movie is the Dark Knight. I am a big enthusiast of Batman, and Christian Bale is an amazing actor. The stuff DC is doing now is pretty sad, but the Nolan trilogy practically holds DC’s cinematic reputation together for me.

The second movie in this Batman trilogy, The Dark Knight, has one of the best villains in cinematic history, and it is a shame Heath Ledger did not live to see the results of his work. The Joker is an insane, threatening character who thinks of some ingenious plans to try and prove that anyone can become corrupted. He challenged Batman’s morals and did not use brute strength, as a lot of other supervillains tend to do.

This movie is quite a masterpiece. Batman and others are forced to make extremely difficult decisions either for right or wrong and are not saved from the choice (which is excellent storytelling by the way. I hate when the hero gets away with not having to choose). I love when two boats, one with citizens and one with prisoners, have to choose whether or not to blow each other up to save themselves. Bruce Wayne doubts himself but is willing to sacrifice himself and his reputation in the end.

So those are my favorite superhero movies! What are your top 3? Tell me in the comments! If you enjoyed the post hit that like button!

  1. You have great tastes! I love The Winter Soldier to pieces, it’s my most watched superhero movie! And yes, I just love the line ‘cuz I’m with you to the end of the line’ too, it just shows how loyal Cap is!
Ooh, I haven’t seen Spiderman into the Spidey-Verse yet, but I really want to. Big Spiderman fangirl here (though I’m not as big as the girls who have obsessions with him and Tom Holland).
Yasss The Dark Knight! That was such an awesome movie! Christian Bale is one of the best actors out there, he is able to transform himself into so many different characters. And Heath Ledger mastered his role; The Joker is a really well thought up character!
Hmm, I don’t have top three fav superhero movies cuz I can’t make my mind up. I really like The Dark Knight Trilogy, The Winter Soldier, Spiderman Homecoming and Man of Steel. Oh, that’s six movies.
Btw, sorry for the super long comment (I talk too much)!

  2. Thank You, Sarah! Yes, yes!! He is so loyal. You definitely should see it! (Haha yes! I totally relate. I literally talked about that Tom Holland obsession in one of my posts called โ€œwhen someone asked me if I was obsessed with a celebrity.โ€) Yeah! Definitely! LOL I get it! Itโ€™s so hard! Oooooo good ones! :). No problem at all! I love long comments! โค๏ธ I talk way too much as well. Hehe ๐Ÿ˜œ

I love TWS too! Not as much as some other marvel movies, but it’s still awesome. I HAVEN’T SEEN SPIDERVERSE YET BUT I WILL SOON. and The Dark Knight took me a really long time to warm up to. I thought it was really depressing at first, got a little overwhelmed, but the more I think about it, the more i like it.

but my guilty pleasure will always be the original thor โค

    1. I was seriously just waiting for the right time to use that. XD

Awesome! YAY! Yeah, I actually understand that completely. It doesn’t have a “super happy ending,” and I actually don’t think I would have liked it when I was a little girl (I was strict about “happy endings”), but I’ve learned fairly recently to look at what the movie’s message is communicating, and it has helped. Plus, I just really admire the acting. XD

      Haha! Sweet!

      1. Ah, Ok! I figured that might be the case since you love Marvel, and with good reason. ๐Ÿ˜‰ If you ever want to watch it, the Dark Knight is free on Netflix currently, though I would suggest making sure your parents are a 100% OK with it because many call Heath Ledger’s Joker terrifying (I even made sure the gif I showed of him was OK with my Mom) and the movie can be dark, but it has a really interesting message, and the acting is phenomenal.
