Hey guys! Today I’m going to show you what learning, practicing, and not giving up, can do. Earlier this year, I shared some of my artwork with you all.
Well, I realized 2 things: The first was that I really like realistic drawing.
So back in August, you saw this^ drawing of Kylo Ren I did. It’s uh… pretty in need of work… a lot of work. Guess what, past self? Outlining everything doesn’t always look the best.
Well, anywho I thought it was really pretty good at the time, so I wanted to keep drawing more. So, I learned about drawing on, none other than, YouTube.
And guess what? I improved a little! I drew a picture of the MCU’s Black Widow. The hair definitely is NOT the best, and I needed work on placement and measuring of the reference photo to accurately proportion my drawing (Which I was too lazy to do properly). But, hey, at least I got somewhere ahead.
Remember those 2 things I realized? The second thing I realized was that I need to be around other teens. I’m not the kind of teen who likes to fill her week with endless clubs and events, but none the less, I noticed I needed to observe my species a little more.
So… I took drawing classes. And the people were nice, but I also really enjoyed the drawing aspect, because, you know, they were drawing classes.
This is the product of those few Saturdays of going to drawing classes. I’m pretty happy with it, but there is ALWAYS ROOM FOR IMPROVEMENT.
Here it is next to the picture my art teacher gave me to copy (don’t ask me who it is, because I don’t know). I still was too impatient with the measuring so the proportion came out a little off, but I’m still pretty happy with it.
Finally, I did this drawing of Rey in 2 days (Maybe a couple hours each day). I might still work on it. We’ll see. I like it, but I could have been even more detailed, and I have a problem with making eyes too big. Maybe because I think in the back of my mind it will make the drawing cuter or something.Β
If you compare my newest Rey to one I did earlier this year, I’d say I’ve improved quite drastically. I can’t wait to improve MORE!
Of course, my siblings had to make fun of my old drawings. LOL
But, that is what siblings do, and I was laughing too (because who can blame them).
So, this goes to show that even if you think you are terrible at something, don’t give up. If you keep at it diligently, you will get better, and better, and better!
What is something you are working at? Have you seen yourself get better? How do like my drawings? Tell me in the comments! If you like the post hit that like button! Bye, for now, everyone!
P.S. Check out Clara’s awesome Giveaway!
WOW!!!! YOU’VE IMPROVED SOOOOOO MUCH!!! Great job!!! πππ LOL you think you draw eyes too big? You should see my drawings π I get a little crazy when it comes to eyes… Do I spy a Lego Batman Harley Quinn drawing in there?

P.S. Love the new meet the blogger picture! And the way you have your hair highlighted looks awesome!

THANK YOU, KATIE!!! LOL Eyes are fun to draw though, even I’m not the best at them. XD Yes you do! I actually have a newer black and white one that I did. I was thinking about talking about them in this post but eliminated the idea because the rest of it was about more realistic drawings. I can send you a pic of them if you would like. π

Oh, Thanks! Those highlights are remnants of when I had to bleach my hair to make it jade colored. Now it is basically all washed out and all you can see is blond. I’m growing out the color now so I will have my natural brown pixie cut.

No problem π Yes they are! I think I draw them so big because A. I like doing the detail of eyes and I can do more when the eyes are larger and B. I think they’re the right size when I start then when it’s done I’m just like “Oh…..” π oh yes! Please do! I’d love to see it π

Oh cool! It looks really good!

Woah! Thatβs amazing! Why is everyone I know such a good artist? (Seriously three of my best friends are amazing artists) but like wow. You should draw Groot! Idk, Iβm just really excited for Endgame.

Wow! All of them are so good! You have definitely improved. π I’m not very good at drawing but I like to try. I’m all right at drawing Spider-Man but that’s about all I can do. π I think it’s funny your siblings were ‘helping’. Mine do that too. Do you like having siblings?

Thank you so much! LOL, Well, drawing Spiderman is just plain awesome! XD YES! I love having siblings! I’d be pretty bored being an only child. I do a lot with my sister, I like to wrestle and joke with my brother, and my youngest brother is just plain entertaining. π

Ha ha! I think I like drawing Spider-Man because I just have to draw the mask not the face. I love my sibs too. π
